I have a BA in English/Creative Writing from Goucher College (worked with Beth Spires and Madison Smartt Bell). I have an MA in Creative Writing from Hollins University, and an MFA in Poetry from the University of Maryland. I founded, direct, and teach the Write Here, Write Now workshops at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, where I'm a resident artist. I'm a published poet and a sponsor of the Maryland Writers Association, Baltimore Chapter. I also work with CityLit Project, which promotes writing and literacy in Baltimore. I have mentored teen writers (12-19) and led workshops for teens, as well as adults.
